All externally-funded Competence Centers located at UiT Norway's Arctic University under the Department of Community Medicine (ISM) are instructed to establish individual advisory boards in 2021.
These boards will advise the centers' leaders on strategies and overall plans; on professional development and research, as well as on the progress and development of the Center's other activities.
Members and leaders of these advisory boards are formally appointed by the management at ISM, in dialogue with the leader of the specific Center.
The advisory boards can have from 3-7 members in total, and the following groups must be represented:
• Employees at the Center
• UiT employees outside the Center
• Important external audiences/ stakeholder groups for the Center
Members of such advisory boards are appointed for a period of 2 or 4 years, but no member can serve more than 8 years in total.
Each advisory board shall have at least one meeting a year. The head of the Center is the secretary of the advisory board.
