Osteopathy is regulated by national legislation under the health law art 6 n (185) and regulation of the professions 13 art 57-59 (‘Gesundheitsgesetz Art. 7ff sowie Gesundheitsverordnung Art. 57 bis 59’)(187).
Educational requirements are either “interkantonale Prüfung für Osteopathie in der Schweiz mit Erfolg bestanden hat” or another approved bachelor study of Osteopathy (187).
Osteopathy is registered in the EU regulated professions database as follows:
Osteopath is a directly related regulated profession with title “Osteopath” recognized under Directive 2005/36/EC (5), ID 14805. General system of recognition- primary application. All regions. Qualification level: PS3 – Diploma of post-secondary level (3-4 years), Art. 11 d.
