In accordance with the Infection Protection Act, the Norwegian Directorate of Health has issued a decision to close a number of health-related businesses, unless they can comply with the authorities' instructions on infection protection.

Among these are providers of complementary and alternative medicine (CAM).

The decision is made to stop the spread of Covid-19, and applies from March 16, 2020 at 00.00 to March 26, 2020 with the possibility of extension.

Provision of CAM therapies is governed by the Act No.64 of 27 June 2003: Alternative treatment of disease, illness, etc (Lov om alternativ behandling av sykdom mv). The Act encompasses a wide range of services that aim to prevent, cure or alleviate illness, ailments and disorders, as well as strengthening the immune system or the body's self-healing capabilities.
