TCM is regulated as a professional standard according to the Professions Act 2008(95), but is not regulated in the Health Service Organization Act (94). In 1993 the Estonian Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine Association (EATMA) was founded. In 1994 EATMA became a member of ICMART (International Council of Medical Acupuncture and Related Techniques). In 1995 EATMA changed its name to EAA (the Estonian Acupuncture Association)(100).
